Mark Fisher

Mark Fisher, Area VI Vice President

I have over 33 years of federal service to include 3 years enlisted in the Army, work for the Department of the Navy, the National Security Agency and the Department of the Army; retiring after the deactivation of the Edgewood Chemical Activity in Maryland in 2005. I became a member of NARFE shortly before retiring and transferred to the Roanoke Valley chapter after moving to Roanoke in 2006 and currently hold the position of Chapter Treasurer.

Both my wife Carolyn and I are active with our church, Windsor Hills United Methodist. I volunteer as a tax counselor for AARP Tax-Aide (which keeps me a little busy February through mid April). I am a member of CoCoRaHS (Community Collaborative Rain, Hail and Snow Network) and a weather spotter for the Blacksburg office of NOAA. Both Carolyn and I are beginner birders and I have participated in Cornell Lab of Ornithology Project Feeder Watch for several years.
